Auto Insurance FAQs:
How much insurance should I have? Washington law on auto liability requires us to carry a minimum amount of liability. We don’t believe that’s right for everyone because property values and liability costs are high. Discovering limits that fit your, while protecting your assets may help you recover faster from an accident.
What is Comprehensive Coverage? Pays for damage to your vehicle from many situations that don’t include auto accidents. like fire, theft, flood and damage. An example could include your tree falling on your car; home insurance doesn’t cover it. In addition, it would pay for the damage, minus your deductible. It would pay Actual Cash Value (what it’s worth today), minus deductible in the event of a total loss.
I am responsible for an auto accident, now what? Collision Coverage responds and pays for your damage. If your vehicle is a total loss, you would get Actual Cash Value. You pay your deductible. Your Property Damage Liability responds and pays for the damage to the other vehicle(s), up to limit of the coverage your selected at inception.
I am responsible for injuries, now what? If you’re sued for injuries, your Bodily Injury Liability responds up to the limits you selected when the policy became effective. This can include payment for damages and your defense. If you purchased Personal Injury Protection, medical expenses up to the limits selected are available regardless of who is found responsible for the accident.
